Job Description:
Supervisor Tech Services

Provides leadership and day-to-day management for the technical services staff in the performance of their duties. Assists the CIO and Director in the formation, prioritization and oversight of organizational projects for and related to Information Services. Assists with the ongoing analytical operations of the department.

  • Advanced technical skills to the level necessary to provide leadership to the technical services staff

  • Possesses the ability and motivation to manage projects of all sizes and proactively report to the director, CIO and other appropriate stakeholders
  • Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
  • Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
  • Assists in meeting the organization's strategic objectives by accepting ownership for accomplishing requests; explores opportunities to add value to the hospital
  • Conveys a positive and supportive team-oriented attitude
  • Exercises good judgment, demonstrates effective critical thinking skills
  • Works effectively under stress and frequently changing job requirements/situations
  • Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
  • Ability to participate in 24/7 on call schedule
  • Ability to handle several responsibilities concurrently, recognizing changes in priorities
  • Exhibits leadership qualities
  • Ability and willingness to learn constantly evolving technology, applying it where applicable
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA data and infrastructure standards


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES
  • Bachelor's Degree or five (5) years related work experience as accepted by the Director or CIO.
  • Limited Energy license class A or B or an apprenticeship in the Oregon Limited Energy license program before the 90 day probationary period is completed
  • Valid Oregon driver's license


EXPERIENCE
  • Five (5) years technical/network experience

PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Able to stand, climb, stoop, bend frequently; positions require considerable physical activity

  • Requires ability to tolerate exposure to conditions which may include toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, heights, high temperatures or confined spaces
  • Able to use proper body mechanics to lift supplies and equipment and push carts and dollies weighing up to 500 lbs.
  • Needs adequate color vision. Must wear protective clothing as required.
  • May be required to travel to various locations
  • Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone
