Job Description:
Epic Non Clinical Training Specialist

The Epic Training Specialist functions as the primary owner and contact of the Epic Training Curriculum for their assigned non-clinical Epic applications. This position also is the primary classroom instructor for Epic new hire training classes and Epic update training. This position is Epic Curriculum Certified in assigned Epic applications and works directly with the Epic Training Manager and St. Charles Health System Connect Training Specialists and Connect IT Analysts. They will also be responsible for interacting with non-clinical staff and managers in a professional manner while providing high level customer service and rounding with teams and super users.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Clinical, Computer Science, Business, Education, Adult Learning/other related field required, or equivalent years working experience.
  • Master's degree in education or adult learning preferred
  • Must pass Epic Credentialing Panel and gain Epic Curriculum Certification in specified application(s) within six (6) months or be previously certified in same Epic applications.


EXPERIENCE
  • At least five (5)years of experience working in healthcare, revenue cycle, access, business office, or patient/customer service.
  • At least one (1) year experience in training and development/instructional design preferred
  • At least one (1) Epic implementation with Epic non-clinical applications preferred (such as Prelude, Cadence, Referrals, HIM, Grand Central, Cogito)


PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Requires extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking
  • May be required to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Requires significant use of personal computer, phone and general office equipment
  • Needs adequate visual acuity, ability to grasp and handle objects
  • Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone
  • May require off-site travel
