Job Description:
Materials Technician

Assures that patients charges are entered appropriately and maintains inventory control for operating room and/or cath lab.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
  • Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment
  • Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
  • Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to read, write legibly, and converse in the English language
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES
  • One (1) year college education in business or marketing or in a related field (or the equivalent in experience)
  • Current Oregon driver's license


EXPERIENCE
  • One (1) year basic purchasing experience in the healthcare industry
  • Operating room or cath lab experience

Physical/Mental/Environmental Requirements
  • Requires extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking

  • Needs adequate visual acuity, ability to grasp and handle objects
  • Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone
  • May require off-site travel
