The Coordinator SBO Revenue Integrity is responsible for driving and supporting the Revenue Integrity function for the Single Billing Office (SBO) at Bay Area Hospital, in coordination with our Epic Community Connect partners. This role involves managing decentralized edits, identifying root causes of issues, developing corrective action plans, and recommending modifications to established practices, procedures, and system functionality to support revenue cycle goals.

Coordinator SBO Revenue Integrity
The Coordinator SBO Revenue Integrity is responsible for driving and supporting the Revenue Integrity function for the Single Billing Office (SBO) at Bay Area Hospital, in coordination with our Epic Community Connect partners. This role involves managing decentralized edits, identifying root causes of issues, developing corrective action plans, and recommending modifications to established practices, procedures, and system functionality to support revenue cycle goals.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review charge items and Revenue Integrity work queues daily, ensuring accurate and timely resolution.
- Analyze billed charges, medical records, and related documentation to identify missing, incorrect, or late charges.
- Evaluate charge capture practices to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with payer rules and regulations.
- Maintain working knowledge of CPT and HCPCs coding, as well as billing, CCI, MUEs, and other relevant coding/billing guidelines.
- Provide recommendations to improve charge capture workflows and standardize practices.
- Report on trends, findings, and opportunities for improvement to management.
- Collaborate with facility representatives and clinical staff to achieve revenue integrity goals.
- Perform database editing/auditing functions to maintain and improve data quality.
- Participate in team meetings and interact regularly with department leaders regarding changes in charge capture practices.
- Ability to use a personal computer and office equipment.
- Flexibility in job schedule to provide user support and advance project goals.
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of three (3) years of hospital and professional chargemaster, coding, and/or billing experience in healthcare revenue cycle required.
- Recent experience with hospital charge capture workflows, chargemaster maintenance, CPT, HCPCS and Revenue Codes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to manipulate large data files.
- Experience with Epic, Mosaic, Experian, Craneware, Optum, 3M or other EMR and revenue cycle solutions software required
- WebEx, Teams or other remote meeting/communication platforms
- Project management, technical implementations, and change management experience a plus
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES
- High school graduate or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Preferred ARCR: Resolute Hospital Billing & Charging
- Preferred ARCR: Resolute Professional Billing Revenue Integrity-Charge Capture and Coding
- Preferred Healthcare certification (AAHAM, NAHAM, HFMA), Epic Certification, and/or training.
- Preferred Coding certification and/or successful completion of CPT/HCPCS coding classes.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Epic, Excel, and SQL queries.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and standards.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work under pressure.
- Organizational skills to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple assignments.
