Job Description:
Risk Manager

Provides leadership, direction and oversight to the risk management program of Bay Area Hospital. Monitors and reports results of the risk reduction efforts to the executive management team and Board of
Directors. Implements all necessary actions to ensure achievement of the objectives of the risk management program.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
  • Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment
  • Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
  • Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrates knowledge in the areas of institutional safety, risk management, quality assessment/improvement, legal concepts, insurance concepts, and provision of clinical services
  • Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES
  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration, Nursing, Clinical Science or related field
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required for Registered Nurses only)
  • National Certification in Risk Management within two years


EXPERIENCE
  • Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in clinical health care
